September 1st thru December 31st - Providence Town Center

Providence Town Center, is a planned lifestyle shopping center development featuring many of today’s elite retailers. Located in Collegeville at the Route 422 and 29 interchange, the location enjoys regional visibility and access to Route 422, a major suburban access corridor that has been fueling explosive residential and commercial growth northwest of Philadelphia. This location also serves as home to several of the areas premier pharmaceutical companies including Wyeth, Glaxo SmithKline and Quest Diagnostics with approximately 12,000 employees who all work directly across the street from Providence Town Center. May 20th - Lower Providence Community Library Event

“India-Past in Present” with the University of PA Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Outreach Lecture Program on Tuesday, May 20th at 7 p.m.  Learn how different people who ruled over India have influenced the present day society. Learn about art and architecture left behind by the Muslim rulers. Slide presentation with fashion show, folk dances, music, and festivals.  Ms. Prema Deshmukh attended the University of New Delhi, India and Nichols State University, Louisiana. She has experience teaching in primary and secondary schools in India and in the US.  Ms. Deshmukh is the recipient of a National Award for teaching multiculturalism to diverse student populations.  The presentation is free and open to the public.  www.lowerprovidencelibrary.com

May 22nd thru May 23rd - Terrorism Awareness Seminar: Protecting Soft Targets

The purpose of this two-day seminar (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) is to provide training to security trainers within soft target venues including schools, hotel/casinos/resorts, large shopping malls, medical facilities, and large audience special events. May 28th thru June 3rd - Ursinus College & WHYY Program

A program taped in Ursinus College’s Bomberger Auditorium marks the debut of a new WHYY program, “On Canvas,” on the Y Arts Channel, Wednesday, May 28-9 p.m.  The program explores the Delaware Valley’s cultural landscape. The channel is located on the air, Channel 12.2, Comcast 241 and Verizon FiOS 874. Performances highlight vocalists, jazz bands, classical and international musicians, and artists in the Delaware Valley. The Ursinus College performance was a new program launched by Intercultural Journeys, a group that seeks to promote understanding among diverse cultures through dialogue and the presentation of world class performance in music, poetry and other art forms.  The November 2007 taping with Bar-David, Intercultural Journeys President and Artistic Director joined by R. June 7th - National Penn Community Shred Day

NATIONAL PENN BANK will host a free Community Shred Day event from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the National Penn Bank King of Prussia Community Office located at 304 South Henderson Road in King of Prussia.   Residents are invited to bring personal and confidential items such as receipts and invoices to the community office to be shredded in a secure manner. Paper clips and staples will go through the shredder, but not plastic binders or spring clips. Limit of 4 file-sized boxes per individual. June 20th - 7th Annual Conservation Subdivision Tour

7th Annual Conservation Subdivision Tour - join Randall Arendt and other Natural Lands Trust staff on a bus tour of conservation subdivisions in Chester County.  The tour will visit four subdivisions that combine to cover over 360 acres of open space.  Join township officials from communities using Growing Greener: Conservation by Design regulations, as well as planners, and developers to discuss elements of successful conservation subdivision design.  The tour will depart from NLT headquarters at the Hildacy Farm Preserve, Media, Delaware County.  Lunch is included.  No charge for this tour thanks to funds from PA Dept. of Conservation & Natural Resources and the William Penn Foundation.  RSVP by 6/11 to Nathan Walker at 610-353-5640 X270 or nwalker@natlands.org
